Finland takes over $2.2m from the high stakes tables last week

Well we all kind of knew that when the US bowed out of online poker the Scandinavians would be the dominating force. This was proven over the weekend when three Finnish players were the biggest winners at the Full Tilt Poker PLO games, bringing back over $2.2m into the Finnish economy.

Patrik Antonius had one of the biggest weeks of his online career with a seven-figure win, largely through Gus Hansen at high stakes Omaha 8. He also played a fair amount of PLO which supplemented his income and we were surprised to see him joined by countryman Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, who had sworn off Full Tilt for the second time in a month last week.

That said, Sahamies simply said he wouldn’t deposit at Full Tilt any longer, not that he wouldn’t play. “Ziigmund” took to the PLO tables and through short-handed and heads-up games from $100/$200 to $300/$600 the Finn locked up a $140k win.

The third and final Finnish victor was Jens “ingenious89” Kyllonen who had a gigantic day at the $300/$600 PLO tables, taking home over a million dollars in profit to net almost half of the total profit the Finnish pros made last week.
