David Benyamine loses almost $200,000 at Full Tilt Poker

Saturday, 15 May 2010

David Benyamine, a high stakes regular in most games, has returned to
Full Tilt Poker for one of the first times since leaving the Red Pro
team last year. He unfortunately came to regret that decision when he
dropped $184,000.

This brings his yearly total to $350,000 in the red despite his best
efforts to find his edge - yesterday he played eighteen, count ‘em,
eighteen different poker variants over 1,172 hands but that couldn’t
save him.

Benyamine’s largest pot was against Brian Townsend playing $200/$400
PLO. It was a standard raised pot but a 9c-4c-6d saw the sparks fly
when Townsend check-raised Benyamine’s continuation bet to $7,000. The
Frenchman wasn’t going anywhere though and after a 3-bet all the money
went in.

Townsend showed K986 for top two pair while Benyamine revealed QQ22
for an overpair with a club flush draw. The Kh turn gave Townsend a
higher two pair but a queen on the river shipped the pot to
Benyamine’s set, making him $80,000 better off.
