Benyamine Dominates at Full Tilt for $400,000

Tuesday, 15 September 2009

The action at Full Tilt Poker hasn’t been insane over the weekend, but try telling that to David Benyamine who won nearly $400,000 playing a mixture of $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em and $2k/$4k Limit.

Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond also saw a session of $500/$1,000 that netted him a nice $271,000 – this earned him a cool quarter-million profit overall. The day’s biggest loser was Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, who dropped $406,000 throughout the course of Sunday.

The cards just were not falling right for the Finn – raising 9c-7c in position, David Benyamine called him with $142,000 left in effective stacks and a $6,000 pot. The flop was 7d-Ac-4d which saw a check-raise from the Frenchman that Ziigmund called. The 9h turn was enough for both players to ship it in, but Ziigmund found his two pair crushed by David’s A4o, which held for a $292,000 pot.

The day after, Ashton Griffin continued his August heater with a $366k win for the day, mostly coming out of the stack of trex313 who lost over $250,000. Ziigmund managed to make $55k and win some of his money back.
