It’s possibly the biggest game on the internet: Phil Ivey’s especially commission $500/$1,000 Pot Limit Omaha table has seen some huge pots, and last night’s session between the Las Vegas pro and online sensation ‘Ziigmund’ saw another big night in the office for Ivey.

As the railbirds congregated, the session got off to a flier for Ziigmund, who managed to double up early on when his top two pair held up against Ivey’s pocket Aces in a $194k pot. The loss of the pot would have been particularly sickening for Ivey, who was a 70% preflop favourite with his Ad-Ac-Kh-Td against Ilari’s Ks-Qh-9s-9d.

If that pot was a sickener, it was nothing compared to the last hand of the session. Posting out of the small blind with 8h-5c-7d-3h, Ivey raised to $3k preflop, with Ilari calling with 2d-4h-4c-5d. The flop came Js-6c-3s, giving Ivey nothing more than a gutshot, while Saharies’ pocket fours and up and down straight draw still the best hand. The Finn check-called Ivey’s $5k bet, before the action card came on the turn. The 4d made Ivey his improbable gutshot nut straight, while Saharies had hit a set and a smaller straight. All of the money went in after Ziigmund’s check-raise to $55k was met by an all in for $134k.

Now, a quick look at the percentages here show Ivey to be just a 78% favourite for a $257,995 pot. When the board paired with a Js showing up on the river, the chips went over to Ilari, who promptly called the session to an end, banking a $400k profit for the session.
