WSOP 2011 – US players filling up final table of $5k Shootout

Thursday, 16 June 2011

Despite a strong UK presence in the final 40 we’ve conceded this event to the Yanks with James Dempsey, Toby Lewis, JP Kelly and James Akenhead busting short of the final ten. Adam Junglen and Tom Marchese lead the online contingent while Todd Terry joins them in a US-dominated final table.

Another player at the final worthy of note is Sean Getzwiller who bested his Day 2 table to make the last ten. He won the $1,000 NL bracelet less than a week ago and is a strong contender to become the first double-bracelet-winner of the 2011 WSOP. He has nine other players standing between him and the gold though.

The ten remaining players have locked up $28,447 for making it to the final table and now the prizes increase incrementally like a regular tournament with the top five finishers taking home six figures and almost half a million dollars – plus bracelet- for the eventual winner.
