WSOP 2011 – $5,000 NL Shootout round one concludes – 40 left

Another increased field size for the 2011 World Series of Poker came in one of the most highly-anticipated events for players, the $5,000 No Limit Hold ‘em Shootout event. A total of 387 players entered the 2011 edition, up 29 from last year albeit with a reduced first prize.

After forty tables played down to a winner we are left with forty players left in contention including The Seiborg Erik Seidel who is going for his ninth bracelet. He is joined by Justin Bonomo, Gavin Smith, Jordan Young, Tom Marchese and Tommy Vedes but our eyes are on the Brits.

Left in the field of forty we have James Akenhead, JP Kelly, Toby Lewis and James Dempsey – four of our best tournament players representing a tenth of the field; barring an unlucky table draw tomorrow we could see a final table dominated by the Union Flag and British bracelet number four.
