The organisers have dubbed this year's World Series of Poker as the game's "Woodstock" and when things get under way on May 27, there will be almost $200 million ready to back it up.
Following the recent announcement that the 2015 WSOP Main Event will no longer guarantee a top prize of $10 million but, instead, payout at the top 1,000 finishers, the organisers have just revealed the final schedule. This time around the summer festival will feature 58 events, including a selection of new tournaments such as the Colossus. The highly touted low priced MTT will kick off on May 29 and have at least $5 million on offer for those that ante-up.On top of giving players more chances to bag a piece of WSOP gold, the organisers are also giving its loyal players even more chips to work with this year. In an effort to increase the amount of play each runner is able to enjoy, all events with a buy-in of less than $10,000 will have its starting stack increased by around 66%.However, one of the biggest pieces of news is that, for the first time in its history, the WSOP will be giving away an online bracelet. Set to take place on WSOP.com, the new virtual championship will take place on July 2 via the Nevada-based site.Once the field has been whittled down to just two players the online tournament will pause and the finalists will be whisked off to the Rio where they will finish their battle in front of the WSOP crowds.Other than offering a bevy of new events, the 46th annual WSOP will be tweaking some of its returning events, including the Millionaire Maker and Monster Stack. As well as adjusting the starting stacks, these tournaments will now have earlier start times which will give players more chances to re-enter later in the day if they get knocked out before 4:00 pm.Commenting on the forthcoming WSOP, the event's Executive Director, Ty Stewart, said:"If you've never thought about coming to Las Vegas for the WSOP, this is the year. Now more than ever, the WSOP has something for everyone and with this schedule we believe that value and the opportunity for player success exist in each and every event we are offering in 2015."To check out the full WSOP 2015 schedule, click here.
