WPT Venice down to 20 – Isaia leads

Monday, 7 February 2011

Day 3 of the World Poker Tour event in Venice drew to a close yesterday evening with just 20 players still in contention for the €380,000 first prize.

Long time chip leader Alessio Isaia is still at the head of the leader board with 1.9m but there is plenty of top quality opposition breathing down his neck. Last year's EPT Player of the Year Max Lykov is second on 1,534,500 with Hungary's Sandor Mayer third with 1,281,000.

There is still a very healthy British presence in the upper echelons of the chip counts with last year's EPT London winner David Vamplew and 2008 WSOPE Main Event runner up John Tabatabai on 1,178,500 and 1,143,000 respectively.

When play resumes later today the field will be whittled down to a final table where each survivor will receive a guaranteed €15,210.
