The World Poker Tour has secured a high profile partner in the form of Hublot watches.
The luxury watch manufacturer is known for its high profile deals with Ferrari and the FIFA World Cup in the past, and will now bring its prestige to the poker world.Founded by Jean-Claude and Ricardo Guadalupe, the Swiss watch brand has an impressive résumé and it's hoped some of that can rub off on the WPT in both the US and the rest of the world. The announcement that Hublot would become "official timekeeper and the official watch" of the WPT was made during the Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Vegas. To celebrate the news and add some extra sparkle to the occasion, Hublot rolled out a 45.5mm Big Bang Unico World Poker Tour watch. The exclusive timepiece will be made in two versions and will, initially, be limited to just 300 watches. As well as handing them out to winners of televised WPT Main Events and Alpha 8 champions, the WPT branded watches will also be sold through Hublot's network of international shops.Commenting on the partnership, Hublot's CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe, said: "We chose the World Poker Tour because its global presence, televised tournaments and quality of its players make it a benchmark in the game. I strongly believe that this field has great commercial and marketing potential. The tremendous success of our boutiques in Las Vegas and Macau are evidence of the possibilities. I am delighted with this great collaboration that awaits us."We chose the World Poker Tour because its global presence, televised tournaments and quality of its players
