The organizers behind the Borgata's Spring Poker Open have just released the event's schedule and it appears to make pleasant reading for both amateurs and professionals alike.
The latest incarnation of the annual event will once again host the World Poker Tour's World Championship event between April 25 and April 29; however, it's the opening event of the festival that's really captured player's attention.Although the WPT World Championship is one of the most prestigious events on the annual calendar, the entry fee (unless you're a WPT winner this season) is $15,400 which is beyond the bankroll of most players.Fortunately, the Borgata has countered this high stakes even with an opening MTT costing just $560. For that entry fee, players will not only get the chance to enter and re-enter four times (two starting flights per day), but they will be vying for a share of a $1 million guaranteed prizepool. When the news was announced that there would be at least $1 million on the line for the festival, a number of players were quick to tweet their support. In fact, while he may not be rushing to put his name down for the event, Daniel Negreanu did state that he's looking forward to returning to Atlantic City for the first time in a while. In a tweet last night, the PokerStars pro suggested that all things being well, he'll be in AC to fight for another title in the WPT World Championship."Can't remember how many years it's been since I visited Atlantic City but I'm a good bet to be there for the WPT Championship in late May."The Borgata Spring Poker Open will run between April 14 and May first and you can check out the full schedule here.
