Vienna Stop For MPN

The live poker tour sponsored by the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) is set to visit the famous Montesino Casino in Austria in January.

According to a recent press statement, the Vienna event will kick off the 2016 edition of the MPN's live tour and feature a main event complete with a €200,000 ($226,000) guaranteed prize pool.

As ever, organisers are expecting an eclectic mix of grinders from around Europe to take part and hope to beat the main event benchmark set in Dublin last month when 570 runners competed for a prize pool of €256,500 ($289,800). The Irish event was eventually won by England's Daniel Tighe for €53,845 ($60,839) while Alex Scott from Microgaming stated that he believes this standard can be beaten.

"Our event in Dublin had a huge prize pool of €256,500 and we expect to beat that with the Vienna festival," said Scott.

The Vienna stop of the MPN's tour will take place from January 21 to 24 with players able to buy-in direct for €550 ($621) or qualify for a seat via a selection of qualifiers being run at multiple partner sites.
