PokerStars received some positive exposure on US TV earlier this week after Vanessa Selbst appeared on the Steve Harvey Show.
The popular chat show regularly attracts millions of viewers each week and on Monday they got to see law graduate and millionaire pro, Selbst, give the show's host a master class.Entitled "Female Ground Breaker", the segment touched on Selbst's impressive career as a pro as well as her accomplishments in the world of academia.Following the typical format of the show, the interview was tinged with some humour and, as expected, Selbst rolled with the punches and delivered a confident, eloquent and insightful glimpse into the mind of a poker player. In fact, during the impromptu game, Selbst managed to slip in a poker tip and show the audience that there is an undeniable element of skill during a game of poker.Interestingly, throughout the interview Selbst was sporting a PokerStars.net patch. Although her sponsor is currently unable to operate inside the US, it is preparing to move into New Jersey and its TV exposure like this that many believe will help PokerStars become the biggest operator in the country.Unlike other igaming operators, PokerStars still has an established brand in the US and many mainstream media outlets see it as a global operator. It's this reputation that should allow PokerStars to stir up some interest, both for its own ends and the rest of the regulated industry, when it finally goes live in the US.
