Professional poker player Vanessa Rousso has used her poker skills to good effect in the US version of the Big Brother television programme to make it all the way to the final three.
The American pro who now does some deejay work on the side has become something of a divisive figure in recent weeks. While some US viewers have marvelled at her ability to manipulate people in the house, others are certain she has been earmarked for success by the producers.Regardless of people's opinions, the poker game theory expert has made it to the final three and is now the bookmakers' favourite to take down the $500,000 top prize.According to the latest reports, Rousso is now Head Of The House, which means she has control of certain aspects of the nomination process. Using this power she now gets to decide who should go and who should stay; a decision that will play to her strong suit as a poker player.Although Rousso was keen to play down her poker career at the start of the show, she has since revealed she is an accomplished player. Fortunately, this doesn't seem to have put her housemates on the defensive as she's continually played people against each other and used a range of tactics to manipulate the dynamics and swing the odds in her favour. While Rousso winning Big Brother won't be instantly beneficial for the poker community, it would bring some spotlight on the game and prove that the game's players are skilled competitors and that's something that could alter people's perception of the game.
