The first major prize of the massive EPT Malta festival after Dzmitry Urbanovich took down the €25,000 Super High Roller.
The Pole pocketed a career-best score of €572,300 after outrunning an 88-runner field. Urbanovich went into Friday's finale third in the chip counts and after the challenges of Martin Finger, Dani Stern and Daniel Dvoress stalled just Connor Drinan stood in the way of High Roller glory.
Urbanovich overturned a 2.7m to 1.7m chip deficit at the start of heads up play, eventually sealing victory when his pocket tens prevailed against the American's pocket nines.
"This was my first EPT High Roller, maybe I was preparing myself for bigger tournaments, and this was the moment," Urbanovich told the PokerStars blog. "I was pretty lucky, got some good spots, made some bad beats for guys. Played good in certain spots and a solid game."
