What to buy the poker lover who has everything? How about a one-of-a-kind chip set, designed by artists, complete with pure carbon fibre case and yours for just five grand.
The high-end set, which is available from e-commerce jewellery retailer Kevin Begola, is dubbed the Phantom Poker Society Project and comprises 'a pure carbon fibre display case and dealer markers, custom designed clay-and-brass chips, an engraved walnut inset, and titanium dice with black diamond pips'."I had this idea of an underground group that plays marathon high-stakes poker under the radar," Begola said of the inspiration behind the project. "It's like a secret organization or a fight club, and there's this badass set that can only be seen by its members. I wanted to build an entire mythology around it. Hence, the Phantom Poker Society was born." "This is the Highlander of poker," Begola said. "There can be only one. Months of research and planning went into the set, and I plan to only work with serious customers."The chips are made from a mix of clay and shaved brass with the dealer button made from carbon fibre and showcase custom engraved wood inlays. The set also includes one deck each of ultra-high-end casino-quality Monarchs and Sentinels cards and a one-of-a-kind pair of titanium dice with the pips on each die .03 carat black diamond insets."There was a time when everything worth owning was custom made like this," said Begola "There were all these amazing one-of-a-kind works of art out there, and nothing was mass produced. I want to bring a bit of that mindset back." More information can be found at the Titanium Buzz Facebook page.
