You know what they normally do , play poker (and talk about poker and think about poker) but what are the stars of the tournament doing while in Edinburgh.
The majority of the players have expressed great enthusiasm about the fact that the UKIPT tournament is running alongside the Edinburgh Festival. Here is what they have been up to;As reported yesterday , festival veteran Vicky Coren plans to go and see the worst things she can while Liv Boree and Michelle Orpe also want to soak up the festival atmosphere by visiting as many venues as they can.Neil Channing , always a shrewd operator and his fellow Blackbelt players such as Owen Robinson , have developed an interesting strategy. They sit and have a drink in the Pleasance courtyard and wait for the acts to come to them , trying to sell tickets. Anyone who can make Neil laugh within two minutes gets a sale. " I like people who can make me laugh" explained Neil. Don't we all Neil , don't we all.Commentator Jesse May plans to go to the "Late & Live " show , a performance that is legendary for an inebriated audience heckling comedians. He may be joined by Jude Ainsworth who has been enjoying a few drinks in the Grassmarket area. Other Pokerstars pro JP Kelly has been enjoying the Edinburgh architecture. The tournament in Edinburgh has proved to be a great success with the players and the local attractions of the city has been vital to this. As Jamie Borland pointed out "If you get knocked out of a tournament in Luton , what do you do? Here there is too much to do to play poker"
