Dusk Till Dawn are well known for big, player friendly events and they've exceeded their usual largesse for next month's PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham event.
DTD's Rob Yong has confirmed that the event will feature a jaw dropping guarantee of £1m as well as hosting an extra opening day. Yong explained on the Blonde Poker forum that the club had had to cancel a scheduled £500 event to focus on the UKIPT and “wanted to do something special for our players” by way of compensation.Last year's UKIPT Nottingham event attracted a field of 1,058 runners, 401 fewer than will be required to meet this year's seven-figure guarantee. PokerStars will be sending around 650 players meaning that DTD will have to attract over 800 players or be left with a shortfall. The new day 1a for the £700+£70 event will take place on Wednesday 11 April with room for 450 players. The second opening flight follows on Thursday 12 April with the third and final opening flight on Friday 13 April.UKIPT President Kirsty Thompson said, “We are delighted to guarantee a £1 million prize pool for the UKIPT Nottingham Event. The UKIPT has seen huge growth year on year, and the £1 million guarantee cements our position as the premium live poker tour in the UK & Ireland.”Qualifiers are up and running at PokerStarsPokerStars and DTD Poker.
