UKIPT Killarney starts today

Thursday, 24 June 2010

The latest leg of the PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour gets under way today at the Gleneagles Hotel in the beautiful Irish city of Killarney.

A guaranteed €250,000 is up for grabs in the four-day €1,000+€100 Main Event that starts at 4pm today. There are also a number of side events including a €500+€50 and €320+€30 no limit hold'em tournaments starting at 7pm on Friday and Saturday respectively. A €1,000+€100 heads up tournament and a €225+€25 no limit will kick off on Sunday for those no longer involved in the Main Event.

As well as the all important cash there is the small matter of leader board points to be won. Chris Brammer is currently in prime position at the top of the UKIPT ladder, just ahead of Marius Lietuvninkas and Jack Elwood. The player at the top of the leader board at the end of this season will earn buy-ins and hotel packages to every event of next season's UKIPT.

Will there be another home favourite for the Irish to cheer after Padraig Parkinson's opening leg win in Galway or will there be yet more British success to report? Join us for updates over the weekend to find out.
