PokerStars hosts tournaments around the globe but its latest event will have more of a homely feel as the UKIPT hits the Isle of Man. The six-day festival gets under way today with a six-handed turbo contest as well as a satellite into the Main Event.

There's a guaranteed prize pool of £350,000 on offer in the aforementioned £700+£70 Main Event with the first of two opening flights off at noon on Thursday. Players making an early exit will be allowed a single re-entry into Day 1B, which starts at the same time on Friday.

A busy programme of side events is also lined up including High Roller, Win the Button, PLO and a combined chess and poker event. A big field is also expected for the two-day Isle of Man Cup which starts on Saturday.

Duncan McLellan won last year's maiden UKIPT Isle of Man Main Event. The Brit pipped Olympic gold medalist Fatima De Melo to the title and a first prize score of £94,090.
