John Davis has become the UK’s first winner in VCPoker.com’s $10 million Grand Slam tournament series. Davis took home a hefty $19,941 for winning Sunday's $60k Guaranteed event which was the second tournament in the series.
Davis, who hails from the Isle of Wight, is now in the running for a potential prize of $5 million if he can win the remaining two events.
Inspired by the prestigious tennis and golf Grand Slams, the VC $10 million Grand Slam gives players – from beginners to professionals – the chance of a freeroll entry to a tournament.
Any player who wins the four tournaments to be held in each week of December will pick up the world’s biggest ever online prize of $US 10 million. If the prize is not won in December there will be a new series of four tournaments in January and every successive month until there is a winner.
“VCPoker.com’s $US 10 million Grand Slam not only introduces an event which offer’s online poker’s richest prize to date,” said VCPoker’s Victor Chandler, “but also introduces a unique competition to find the world’s best player in their preferred online setting.”
