Troyanovskiy Leads EPT Grand Final

Tuesday, 29 April 2014

The €10,600 ($14,702) buy-in Grand Final main event of Season 10 from the European Poker Tour (EPT) finished its Day 2 yesterday in Monte Carlo and saw a field of more than 300 competitors whittled down to just 125.

After two opening flights and a late registration period that stretched on to the start of Day 2, organisers were eventually able to set this year's marquee multi-table tournament at 650 players. This means that one winner will walk away with a top prize later this week worth at least €1,240,000 ($1,719,809).

Leading the way at the close of yesterday’s play was Russia's Vladimir Troyanovskiy while familiar faces including Johnny Lodden, Simon Deadman, Philipp Gruissem and Sam Trickett are also still involved.

Day 3, which begins later today from noon local time, will see the bubble burst and 95 players enter the money before a handle of tables are told to bag up their chips ahead of Wednesday's session.
