The Sky Poker UK Poker Championship will get underway next week and when the action goes down some of the best players in Europe, including Tony G, will be entering the fray.
Thanks to its £500,000 guaranteed prizepool and place inside Dusk Till Dawn's card room, the £1,000 Main Event will form one of the stops on Tony's so called "farewell tour". Back in 2013 the larger than life poker pro announced that he is taking a break from poker to enter into politics so any tournaments he now attends will likely be his last (for a little while at least). Joining Tony at the felt for next week's festival will be a slew of stars, including JP Kelly, Barny Boatman, Boris Becker and the UKPC's ambassador, Sam Trickett.Having been selected as the face of the festival, Sam will be just one of the high level pros on display when the action gets underway on February 17th.Commenting on the Sky Poker sponsored event, Sam said:"I am delighted that the Sky Poker UK Poker Championships are coming to Dusk Till Dawn, the club where it all began for me. This event has been a long time coming and it will be great to have an official championship like other countries do. I will be playing the High Roller, Heads Up and the Main Event, but there are also other championship events if I am unsuccessful in those. Really looking forward to working with Sky Poker and Dusk Till Dawn to promote this event."On top of its Main Event the Sky Poker UK Poker Championship will also feature a busy side event schedule including a £3,000 High Roller as well as a slew of lower stakes events, including a £500 PLO tournament.Tony G's imminent arrival also gives us an excuse to show this great clip from SrslySirius.
