He may have lost a string of sponsors from Gatorade to Gillette but not even the prospect of £50m can persuade Tiger Woods to sign up with Paddy Power.
A whole host of companies, including Buick, AT&T and Accenture, have cut their sponsorship ties with the former world number one, but one company hasn't lost faith with the best golfer on the planet. The cheeky chaps at Paddy Power are thought to have offered Woods a sponsorship deal worth £50m. A statement from the Irish Bookie read, “At this stage, when other sponsors seem to be ditching him, there's an opportunity there to step in. He's still somebody we would very much like to align ourselves to."Woods's management team have shown no interest in pursuing the PaddyPower offer though. Mark Steinberg, from Woods's agency IMG said, "We're not involved in any discussions to add to his sponsorship portfolio at this time.”The bookie hasn't been put off yet though saying, “Paddy Power remains keen to work with Tiger Woods, and will re-engage with IMG. An enhanced offer will be made, the details of which will remain confidential. If you're going to have a publicity stunt then you may as well make it a good one so fair play to Paddy Power. And while PaddyPowerPoker may not have £50m to throw around at us mere mortals it does have some very juicy sign up offers.
