Terrific Trickett Does it Again

Terrific Trickett Does it Again

Super Sam Trickett has added another AU$2m (£1.32m) to his bulging bankroll after winning the Aussie Millions AU$250,000 Challenge.

The 26-year-old worked his way through a deep pocketed field of 18 runners before defeating Tobias Reinkemeier heads up. Trickett started the final table as one of the short stacks but an early double put him right back into contention.

Trickett with chips is a serious proposition and so it proved as the multiple British Poker Award winner rode that momentum to victory. The Brit took a big step towards the title after winning against the unfortunate Igor Kurganov who's jack high flush was crushed by Trickett's straight flush.

Former English Open winner Fabian Quoss departed in third, also at the hands of Trickett, leaving only Reinkemeier standing in the way of yet another title for the Englishman. The end came soon after when the German's short stacked shove with K-2 couldn't outrun Trickett's A-5.

Trickett's latest High Roller triumph Down Under (he won the same title in 2011) moves him up to second behind Antonio Esfandiari on the All Time Money List.
