Terence Etim Wins Grosvenor 25/25 Blackpool
Monday, 6 January 2014
Terence Etim has been crowned the first winner of the 2014 Grosvenor 25/25 series after seeing off a bumper field in Blackpool over the weekend.
Value hunters were out in force at the seaside town's G Casino with 351 entrants taking to the tables for the £200+£20 event, almost tripling the £25,000 guarantee. After three days of hard fought action it was Etim who claimed the trophy after a six way final table chop.
The final table positions and payouts were as follows:
1st - £11,000 - Terence Etim **
2nd - £11,000 - Jason Barton **
3rd - £7,000 - Howard Plant **
4th - £7,000 - James Colley **
5th - £7,000 - Lee Tatters **
6th - £7,000 - Phil Pearson **
7th - £2,320 - Yusuf Erdum
8th - £1,750 - Thomas Ambler
9th - £1,330 - Kerry O Connor
Players in the South will be the next to enjoy the value on offer in the 25/25 series with
Southampton's Grosvenor Casino hosting the next event from 17-19 January.
Other dates for the diary include an event in
Dundee from 31 January to 2 February as well as a return to
Salford from 14-16 February.
Each event features three opening flights on Friday at 7pm, Saturday at noon and Saturday at 8pm. For the £200+£20 buy-in, each player will receive 25,000 chips and battle for a guaranteed £25,000 prize pool. Though judging from 2014's opener it looks like much more could be on offer.
Online qualification is available at Grosvenor Poker with satellites starting from just £3.30. There's also a 25/25 freeroll at
Grosvenor Poker on the last Wednesday of the month where one seat is guaranteed.
