Thursday, 5 August 2010

Italy’s largest ever poker tour, hosted by PokerStars.it, saw a Hungarian man claim the title after conquering a field of 504 players in the €2,200 main event of the PokerStars Italian Poker Tour’s stop in Venice.

Lendvai took home €235,000 for his victory at the Casino Ca’Noghera despite being the shortest stack at the start of the eight-handed final table. He finally ground his way up to face Davide Cerrato one-on-one before dispatching him to take the title.

PokerStars’ armada of Italian pros, including High Stakes Poker regular Dario Minieri and tournament pro Luca Pagano couldn’t muster up a final table finish or cash between them, but the Pagano family kept the name up as Claudia Pagano finished in 13th.

The full final table placings and payouts were as follows:

1st : Tamas Lendvai - €235,000

2nd: Davide Cerrato - €147,000

3rd: Giovanni La Padula - €88,000

4th: Cristiano Guerra - €59,000

5th: Ali Tekitamgac - €46,000

6th: Andras Kovacs - €35,000

7th: Toby Lewis - €25,000

8th: Sandro Mazzei - €18,000
