It's been 15 years since Rounders first graced cinema screens and despite plenty of tries, nothing has matched the adventures of Mike, Worm and Teddy KGB.
The latest attempt to take the poker movie crown is "Runner, Runner" which is released in the UK later this month and stars Hollywood A listers Justin Timberlake and some Ben Affleck. Based loosely on the Black Friday scandal, Runner Runner tells the story of post grad student Richie Furst (Timberlake) who is swindled out of his tuition money while playing online poker. He heads to Costa Rica to confront the site's dodgy boss Ivan Block (Affleck). Seduced by Block's promises of oodles of cash, Richie becomes part of the firm. When the FBI comes calling and tries to recruit Richie to take down Block (adopts voiceover voice) he “faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.” We just hope it's better than Lucky You and All In.
