This year’s edition of the Super Stack United Kingdom tournament series signed off in style over the weekend with former television host Mark Banin winning its season-ending finale in London.
Once a regular on the much-missed Poker Night Live and Sky Poker, Banin topped a field of 679 runners to take the biggest chunk of the six-figure prize pool on offer at The Poker Room, which is above The Grosvenor Victoria Casino London on Edgware Road.A total of 52 players cashed in the London event with Banin transforming his £150 ($222) buy-in into a £19,130 ($28,394) pay-day following a five-way final table chop. It was also a good affair for fellow final table competitors Bhavin Khatri, Nayden Tonov, Mark Caffrey and Stephen Ray as they secured payouts worth £9,755 ($14,477) to £13,575 ($20,146).The win caps off what has been a fine few weeks for Banin as he also triumphed in the £300 ($445) buy-in six-maximum side event at the Grand Final of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) last month to secure a cash prize of £10,040 ($14,897).The Super Stack United Kingdom will return in 2016 complete with a new structure, buy-in and choice of three opening flights beginning with the first £220 ($333) buy-in tournament from January 14 to 17 at The Poker Room.Super Stack United Kingdom 2016 Schedule:January 14 - 17February 11 - 14March 31 - April 3April 28 - May 1May 26 - 29June 16 - 19July 21 - 24August 18 - 21September 15 - 18October 27 - 30November 10 - 13December 15 - 18
