Poker is often used in popular culture to promote certain products and in the last few days it seems the Chanel fashion house has taken a shine to the game.
Hosting its annual catwalk show for Paris Fashion Week, the luxury clothing brand decided to create an elaborate set complete with its own casino as a way to show off its latest creations.Of course, an impromptu casino without any players would be boring, so while the world's top models paraded up and down the catwalk looking as chic as possible, the likes of Julianne Moore, Kristen Stewart and Rita Ora all played for high stakes across a variety of games. Also joining the action was Johnny Depp's daughter, Lara Rose, as well as Lara Stone and Lily Collins who all enjoyed a few rounds of blackjack, roulette and poker.Although images emanating from fashion journalists covering the event only showed the celebrities playing craps, but according to the Associated Press, the group sat at the poker table a exchanged bets while they "hugged, chatted, gambled, and laughed" throughout the show. While the poker isn't known for its taste in fashion (think the gaudy Ed Hardy t-shirts that were popular at the WSOP a few years ago), it seems the fashion world is into poker. Hollywood stars and the world's most stylish enjoying poker is always good for the game and another sign that the industry is still attracting support from some influential figures.
