One of the highlights of the online poker year, the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker, gets under way this Sunday with some huge prizes to be won.
A total of 38 events are scheduled with high, medium and low buy-in tournaments taking place simultaneously. The action gets under way at 6pm UK time on Sunday in the form of a six max NL Hold'em event with buy-ins of $22, $215 and $2,100. There are a wide variety of games pencilled in including hold'em, PLO, badugi, 7 card stud, razz and a selection of mixed games in shoot-out, freezeout, rebuy, short handed, turbo and double chance format. The sixteen-day festival culminates in the two-day no limit' hold'em Main Event starting on 16th May with buy-ins at $109, $1,050 and $10,300. “The amount of competition available is just incredible and this year’s SCOOP schedule should provide at least a little bit of something interesting for all players no matter what game they prefer or at what stakes level they’re most comfortable,” said Bryan Slick from PokerStars.“In terms of buzz, of course the high-stakes main event is generating a lot of excitement due to its five million dollar guarantee and the fact that we’re guaranteeing one million dollars to the tournament champion. Someone’s life is going to change at the conclusion of that event and others and that’s really exciting.” You can see the full schedule and satellite information at PokerStars SCOOP
