Sorel Mizzi Survives Brazilian Swim

Plenty of skeptics doubted whether Sorel Mizzi could complete an open water swim from Ipanema Beach in Brazil to an island 5km off the coast but the Aussie Millions runner-up has come up trumps (just).

Mizzi took to the water yesterday and, after a four-hour battle against strong currents, rising tides, circling birds and fatigue, he just about made it to his destination intact.

Despite having arms like 'jello' and a sore throat, Mizzi found time for a gag or two after the swim.
