Slusarek wins Genting Poker Big Game

Tuesday, 5 February 2013

Organisers of the Genting Poker Big Game promised that the latest contest would be a biggie and so it proved with Patryk Slusarek taking the honours.

The Big Game's first ever re-entry tournament attracted a field of 42 entrants at the Bluff at the Genting Mint who were competing for a prize pool of £42,000. Slusanek took the lion's share of the cash, a cool £18,480, after outlasting a final table that included Nick Irving, Paul Byrne, Daniel Patel and Andreas Valhjalt.

The Pole claimed his biggest live score to date after beating James Sullivan heads up, sealing victory when his top pair faded a flush draw and numerous chop possibilities.

1st - Patryk Slusarek - £18,480
2nd - James Sullivan - £10,080
3rd - Daniel Patel - £6,720
4th - Andreas Valhjalt - £4,620
5th - Paul Byrne - £1,050
6th - Nick Irving - £1,050
