Shorr and Heinanen Top WPT Prague

Shorr and Heinanen Top WPT Prague

Tuesday, 4 December 2012

The first of three starting days for the WPT’s Prague event kicked off yesterday and when the book finally closed a total of 115 players were in the mix for the title.

A host of European and international talent were on display with American Shannon Shorr doing his best to guide the following pack throughout most of the day.

His 191,800 finishing stack was topped by Finland’s Pasi Heinanen who bagged 193,800 to top the leaderboard at the end of Day 1A.

While some top names scaled the chip counts, a host hit the rail, including: Ana Marquez, Jonathan Duhamel, Faraz Jaka and Bryn Kenney.

However, being a re-entry event it’s likely many of those who took a dive yesterday will reset themselves today and try to make it through the second starting day.

1 Pasi Jaako Heinanen 193800
2 Shannon Shorr 191800
3 pawel brzeski 173100
4 Sebastien Garrasi 143900

The WPT’s Prague offering is just one of a number of poker events taking place in Prague at the moment, with the WPT and GSOP also scheduled to take place in the next two weeks.

Indeed, if there’s one place in the world you should be at the moment if you’re a tournament grinder it’s the Czech capital.
