Scott Eustace wins DTD Deepstack

Scott Eustace wins DTD Deepstack

Monday, 4 July 2011

The popular Dusk Till Dawn Deepstack was back this weekend, featuring for the first time its new re-entry format and two opening days. All told 336 players bought into the £100,000 guaranteed event and in the end it was Scott Eustace who took the honours.

Fans of lower league football clubs may recognise the name as Eustace played professionally for Mansfield and Cambridge as well as making a single appearance for Leicester City. The 35-year-old agreed a deal with Lloyd Houston when play went heads up with both taking home £18,100. Who would appear as the winner in the record books would be decided by single card turnover with Eustace getting lucky.

The whole tournament proved to be a remarkable one for the Leicester man who reportedly used the last £20 in his DTDpoker.com account to qualify for this event. Turning it into an €18,100 score is quite some ROI.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1 Scott Eustace £18,100
2 Lloyd Houston £18,100
3 Anonymous £12,200
4 Basharat Mahmood £8,600
5 Gary Strang £5,000
6 Tasos Grigoriou £5,000
7 Raj Dhiri £5,000
8 Jack Allen £5,000
9 James Tidey £5,000
