The PCA’s Main Event kicked off yesterday with a host of world class players anteing up for some poker in the sun.

Indeed, a total of 320 players took to the felt in the luxury Atlantis Resort and after a day of intense poker action it was Maxim Lobzhanidze who topped the chip counts.

A profitable day of poker for the Russian meant he ended the session with 248,900 chips, which was enough to put him ahead of Gilbert Diaz (215,900) and Darren Elias (191,000).

Also surviving the day were the likes of Justin Bonomo, Joe Cada, Andrew Lichtenberger and tennis legend Boris Becker.

Day 1b is set to kick off later today and while it’s too late for anyone to make the trip over to the event and join the action, you can gain some added interest courtesy of PokerStars.

To celebrate the PCA’s tenth anniversary, PokerStars is giving you the chance to win $100 by choosing which of their pros you think will last the longest in the event.

By using a specific deposit code (the first name of the player you want to support), you will be eligible for a deposit match bonus (up to $100) if you pro makes it further than the rest of the team.
