Ruben Sanchez Cebollada wins Unibet Open Barcelona

It's not just Las Vegas that has been hosting big tournament action at the moment. The latest leg of the Unibet Open series hit Barcelona this weekend with a very healthy field of 387-runners buying into the €1,500+€150 Main Event.

The Spanish crowd had a home win to celebrate as Ruben Sanchez Cebollada took the title, beating Sweden's Davor Pavic after a lengthy heads up confrontation. After a seemingly endless series of raise fold hands the pair finally got all the chips in the middle with Cebollada holding A9 and Pavic A7. A nine of the flop gave the Spaniard the title and with it a first prize of €140,000.

A tip of the hat too to our own Alex Rousso who just missed out on the final table finishing in 11th place for a €4,500 score.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1st Ruben Sanchez Cebollada €145,000
2nd Davor Pavic €90,000
3rd Pim Van Riet €60,000
4th Jose Marin Fuentes €44,100
5th Emilio Munoz Dominguez €33,000
6th Andrei Vlassenko €23,500
7th Daniel Reijmer €17,300
8th Tuan Duy Ngo €12,400
9th Tomas Kesiunas €10,000

The Citywest Hotel in Dublin will be the venue for the next stop on the Unibet Open tour from 25th to 28th August. Qualify at Unibet Poker.
