It’s been in the making for over two years now but Jay Rosenkrantz and Ryan Firpo’s long awaited poker documentary has just had its release confirmed.
Originally entitled BOOM, the piece has now morphed into Bet Raise Fold: The Story of Online Poker and will focus on three internet players: Tony Dunst, Danielle Moon and Martin Bradstreet.Featuring cameos from some of the game’s best known players, including Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Phil Galfond and Daniel Negreanu, the movie aims to tell the complete story of the game as it developed from 2003 to 2013.While the producers have declined to set an exact day, they have said that after months of pushing the release date back they will be letting the world see their project in June this year. Indeed, the project has been delayed numerous times, first because of Black Friday, then because of more information being added to the plot. However, after endless hours in the editing suite the team now feel like they’ve got a product that’s not only worthy of a poker player’s attention but the general public’s attention. Commenting on the movie, Rosenkrantz said: “We are extremely excited. We feel like we've been operating in secrecy for a long time, and we know that people have been waiting for the movie since we put up the old trailer.”People can now visit the movie’s dedicated website, betraisefoldmovie.com, and join the mailing list for regular updates and exclusive insights into the movie. Indeed, over the coming weeks a series of deleted scenes will be posted on the site, along with a brand new trailer for the documentary.
