Record breaking mahjong event set for Poker in the Park

This year's Poker in the Park festival will feature all the usual good stuff that poker players have come to expect from Europe's biggest poker festival (and by good stuff we mean round the clock tournaments, coaching clinics and strategy sessions from some of the best players in the world).

Aficionados of the ancient Chinese game of mahjong will also have plenty to enjoy at this year's Hanover Square event. The newly created skill game tent will host what promises to be the biggest mahjong tournament held outside of China.


Organiser Michael Caselli said, “The addition of Mahjong is not only a way to involve the large Chinese community from nearby China Town in our festival, but we also hope it will introduce a large number of poker players to what is one of the most widely played skill games in the world.”


This year's Poker in the Park festival takes place at Hanover Square, a short walk from Oxford Circus tube station, on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd September 2011.
