The Hit Squad have hit the bullseye once again with Praz Bansi taking the honours at the GUKPT London Main Event.
The Londoner, who won his first GUKPT title in Bolton in 2007, beat a final table that included Jeff Kimber and fellow Hit Squadee Karl Mahrenholz to take the £101,020 first prize. Bansi, who claimed his second WSOP bracelet last year, went into heads up play with Manig Loeser with a six to one chip lead but the German won a succession of pots to put himself right back in contention. Bansi wasn't to be denied though, effectively taking the title after hitting a straight to beat Loeser's top pair. With just over one big blind left, the German was all in blind on the next hand and couldn't mount a chip and a chair style comeback. The final table positions and payouts were as follows:1st Praz Bansi £101,0202nd Manig Loesser £67,0703rd Gary Lindsay £44,1004th Karl Mahrenholz £26,6405th Jamie Roberts £19,8406th Ken Wong £16,1707th Chris Kyriacou £12,5008th Jim Dunsford £10,1109th Jeff Kimber £7,350The next leg of the GUKPT will be at the G Casino in Walsall from 24 April 2011.Keep up to date with all the news from the poker world by following us on Twitter and Facebook.
