Poland's Marek Sosnowski has won the PartyPoker.com Drive The Dream promotion. There was one slight snag for the 19-year-old though, he can't actually drive. Luckily there was a cash alternative to the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe first prize and the Krakow native now finds himself better off to the tune of $150,000.

Sosnowski saw off eight rivals in a special Drive The Dream STT at the Mint Casino in South Kensington and was understandably delighted at his new found fortune, “This is madness, I don't quite know what to do - I cannot believe I won this without investing a penny. I have my driving test next week so I thought it would be best to take the money! An Aston Martin is an amazing car but I was thinking I would get an Audi TT instead when I pass my test. I took my preparation for the event really seriously. I have been reading books and even hired myself a poker trainer. It has paid off and I couldn't be more happy!"


The final positions and prizes were as follows:

6. Michal Wawer - Poland - F1 Grand Prix Santander D'Italia Package (Monza)
7. Rodney Jones - UK - US$4,000 Cash
8. Christian Altrogge - Germany - US$3,000 Cash
9. Rizwan Patel - UK - US$2,000 cash


A PartyPoker spokesman said: "Hundreds of thousands of players took part in Drive the Dream and Marek was the deserved winner. The fact he won after qualifying through a freeroll is remarkable but his commitment to improving his game in the weeks before the final is commendable. It just goes to prove how important skill and learning elements are to the game of poker.”
