PokerStars Zoom goes live for real money play

Monday, 19 March 2012

Over the weekend, PokerStars players zoomed chips across the tables as PokerStars’ fast-moving ring game hit the virtual tables for real money play. Once you fold hands, you are instantly dealt a new hand at a new table of players for up to 300 hands per hour single-tabling.

Zoom tables are not accessed as usual but instead, players enter a pool of up to 1,500 players at either full ring or 6-max No Limit Hold’em or Pot Limit Omaha. You are randomly seated at a table of players and once your part in the hand is complete, a quick transition to a new table with new players makes online poker faster than ever.

You can even “fast fold” out of turn to increase the volume. Players are getting over 250 hands per hour playing just one table, and you can play up to four Zoom tables at once. Currently, Zoom is available in beta at stakes of NL2, NL5 and NL10 plus the Omaha equivalents. “There might still be a few little bugs and things to work out before the higher stakes get here,” PokerStars said.
