PokerStars has signed a sponsorship deal with Isle Of Man-born Snowboard Cross athlete Zoe Gillings-Brier.
Gillings-Brier has already achieved success with seven World Cup podiums and appearances at three Winter Olympics tournaments and will now serve as a brand ambassador for PokerStars.Unveiled at the recent Douglas stop of the UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) where she competed in the main event and a special charity tournament, Gillings-Brier stated that she often gets an 'adrenaline rush' from playing poker.“I am extremely grateful to PokerStars for supporting me on my journey to the 2018 Winter Olympics,” said Gillings-Brier.“The Isle Of Man is a small island in the Irish Sea so it makes me so proud to be supported by a local Manx company while representing the Isle Of Man training and competing around the world. I love the adrenaline rush I get from snowboarding and often get the same sense of that when playing poker.”PokerStars declared that 30-year-old Gillings-Brier is the reigning Isle Of Man Sports Woman Of The Year, which is an accolade she has won five times, and it intends to play a ‘significant part’ in her preparations for the 2018 Winter Olympics programme ‘by supporting her to train and compete’.“We are delighted to be able to support Zoe as she prepares for the 2018 Winter Olympics,” said Eric Hollreiser, Corporate Communications Director for PokerStars.“Zoe is an extremely focused and determined athlete and we are excited to be a part of her latest quest for Winter Olympics success.”
