PokerStars Set for US Return?

PokerStars Set for US Return?

Friday, 17 April 2015

PokerStars may be a step closer to rejoining the US poker market according to the owner of Atlantic City's Resorts Casino, Morris Bailey.

"As it relates to New Jersey I would say that we feel that this is coming. We would expect to receive and launch in the next quarter," read a statement from Baazov.

Although there have been a number of similar predictions in the past, Baazov's statement piqued the interest of community members and last night yet more fuel was added to the fire by PokerStars' live casino partner in New Jersey, Resorts.

During a press conference inside Resorts AC, the casino's owner, Morris Bailey, told reporters that a deal is closer than ever and that he is positive about the potential outcome.

Although there was no more information forthcoming, the news created a buzz across the community; especially after Bailey stated that Resorts is preparing to open a dedicated poker room within its property to celebrate the deal.

Similar to PokerStars' deals in other countries such as PokerStars LIVE at the Hippodrome, London, the new room would create a connection between the operator's live and online interests. As with all things connected to regulation in the US, nothing is certain until a deal is signed but this could be the biggest sign yet that PokerStars will be back in the US within the coming months.
