PokerStars Releases Joe Cada

PokerStars Releases Joe Cada

Wednesday, 24 September 2014

Another batch of high profile pros appears to have been cut from the PokerStars pro roster according to recent reports.

Nacho Barbero, Marcel Luske, Alexander Kravchenko and Joe Cada are also believed to have parted company with the site.

Although there's been no official reason as to why the pros have been let go, some have speculated the PokerStars' impending move into New Jersey could be behind the latest changes.

Indeed, with a new US platform waiting in the wings and a wave of new advertising opportunities, it's likely that PokerStars will want to exploit local market opportunities and use professionals based in the Garden State for promotional purposes.

Although the news will likely come as a surprise to Cada, Luske and Kravchenko, there could be a silver lining (or gold lining as the case may be) on the horizon for one of them.

According to Michael Gentile of pokerfuse, WSOP.com is looking to create a "Gold Club" of sponsored pros. The founding member of the "club", Greg Merson, was officially revealed last week and suggestions are that Cada could be on his way to a contract with the US-based poker site.
