PokerStars NAPT Los Angeles becomes “The Big Event”

This weekend the PokerStars North American Poker Tour returns to the Bicycle Casino in California for the second NAPT LA... wait, no. In fact The Big Event will take place at the Bicycle Casino over this weekend and it will in no way be the NAPT.

This is what has had to happen after the NAPT and Bicycle Casino were in discussions with California gaming officials. We can’t be one hundred per cent but the online gaming sponsorship of the tournament was probably what CA took umbrage with.


The event still runs from March 5 to March 12, the Main Event and preliminary events will run as usual but the former will not be televised on ESPN like previous NAPT tournaments. The Bounty Shootout, however, remains under the glare of ESPN lights.


If you’ve qualified for this event through PokerStars then you will be able to defer your buy-in to another NAPT event, however if you have a package including hotel accommodation you will not be able to transfer this.
Team PokerStars Pros will still be out in force and the Main Event will be streamed on a Live at the Bike webcast.
