PokerStars is celebrating the launch of the new UKIPT season this month in unorthodox style by opening its first pop-up restaurant!
This isn't any old restaurant though, as hands of poker will decide what diners pay for their meal. The joint venture with Jones and Sons is called the All-In Kitchen and will be open in Haggerston in east London from 19-21 January.Players opting to take part in the poker element of the dining experience will have the chance to get their meal and cocktail (worth up to £50) for nothing or at a big discount depending on how they do in three hands of hold'em.Players finishing with 10,000 chips and above will have their dinner on the house. Finish with between 5,000 and 10,000 chips and the bill will be £5. End up with less than 5,000 chips and the three-course feast will set you back a tenner.Andy Jones, Founder of Jones & Sons, explains the thinking behind the new collaboration, “I love food and never shy away from the tables when I get the chance, so having the opportunity to create a menu that combines two of my favourite things was something I jumped at.”“Embracing Poker within the dishes was a lot of fun and some of the dishes that hit the cutting room floor were a bit out there, but I can't wait to see the results and serve up some Aces.”The menu will include plenty of poker inspired dishes including 'Royal Flush of King Crab Thermidor', 'Queen Scallops accompanied by Salt Baked Swede and Bacon Marmalade' and '4 of a Kind of Lamb Chops, Rump, Kidney and Shoulder With A Rosemary Jus'.All-In pop-up restaurants are set to open in cities hosting UKIPT events throughout the year.
