Popular poker presenter Lynn Gilmartin reversed her role this weekend by taking down the Ladies Event at the Barcelona stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT).
The Ladies Event was the largest of its kind in EPT history and attracted 148 entrants, which is an increase of 45 percent year-on-year, including an international cast of female grinders. But when it came down to the heads-up finale it was an all Aussie affair with Gilmartin and Heather Dorazio deciding to cut a deal and take home slightly less than €6,000 each after watching Italian Angela Del Re depart in third. With the money divided up and the title left to play for, Gilmartin set about putting her skills into action and within a few hands she had managed to clinch her first EPT title. After the event the presenter was naturally ecstatic and even contemplated taking part in more events at the festival."Now I'm contemplating playing the main event," said Gilmartin, who hosts the World Poker Tour programme on Fox Sports."Before buying into this event I said that I was going to use this as my satellite for the main event so now I feel like I should commit to that. I think I'll play more even if I don't play the main event but I like to balance out my trips. I've come here to have a good time and see Barcelona so I'm definitely not going to spend every day in the casino."EPT Barcelona Ladies Event Result:1. Lynn Gilmartin - €5,8902. Heather Dorazio - €5,6903. Angela Del Re - €3,1004. Carolin Spath - €2,5505. Hiromi Miyakawa - €2,0526. Yan Li - €1,6107. Tone Marthinsen - €1,2058. Laia Culebras Huet - €8909. Pei Yu Lai - €690
