Paul Vas NunesPaul Vas Nunes has enjoyed plenty of online success including winning the PokerStars Sunday Million but now the Brentwood man has taken his internet form into the live arena with a maiden major victory in the Unibet Open in Dublin.

Vas Nunes outlasted a 260-runner field in the €1,500 event, taking home a first prize of €105,300 after beating Denmark's Emil Pedersen heads up. The final hand of the tournament was a classic race which started with the Dane making a button raise of 110,000. Vas Nunes re-raised to 330,000 before Pedersen made it 1,000,000. After a lengthy dwell the Englishman pushed his remaining chips into the middle and Pedersen made the call with AQ which was flipping with Vas Nunes's pocket 8s.

The board helped neither player leaving Vas Nunes to celebrate his largest live score to date. Pedersen settled for €66,300 for his runner up finish.
