Paul Jackson wins SPT Birmingham

Tuesday, 11 June 2013

Paul Jackson winning in Birmingham isn't usually a newsworthy occurrence. Our own Action Jack has enjoyed so much success that there's even card room named after him at the city's Genting Casino at Star City.

The Paul Jackson in question this time though isn't Paul Jackson of this parish but the man who plays online at Sky Poker using the moniker jac35 and who took down the latest leg of the Sky Poker Tour in the second city this weekend.

Jackson worked his way through a field of 207 qualifiers at the Broadway Casino and ended up turning his £100+£10 buy-in into a first prize of £4392. After Paul Busby was eliminated in third after running into Jackson's pocket kings it was left to Jac35 and Clare Gardner to battle it out for the win.

With the blinds reaching astronomical levels, the pair agreed a chop for the cash before playing on for the trophy with Jackson claiming victory when he rivered a straight with Q-4 on an AKJJ10 board to beat Gardner's A9.

The next stop on the Sky Poker Tour is Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham from 27-28 July. The two-day Six Max features a guaranteed prize pool if £40,000 gtd with a buy-in of £200+20. Qualifiers will be up and running at SkyPoker.com in the near future. As well as getting themselves on the telly on Sky Channel 861, new players can enjoy a 200% deposit up to £500 and a free £10.
