Patience Pays for Freeroll Winner

Patience. That's the key to winning freerolls according to a recent tournament winner at Juicy Stakes Poker.

Players will have the chance to put that advice into practice on Thursday as the site's latest freebie takes place at 6pm Eastern Time with $500 to be won.

“The competition in a freeroll is hard to evaluate because you have so many that do not really take it seriously,” the Memorial Weekend winner told Juicy Stakes poker manager. “At the beginning there are a lot of loose players but the further the tournament goes they all get more picky with which hands they play. In this tournament the competition was OK at the end.”

“Keep your patience and wait for the hands that you feel comfortable playing.”

“It was almost half way through the tournament when I thought that this could actually be a good possibility to go far. Ante was 75 with blinds 400/800 and I am in late position with around 12-13K in chips. A guy in early position goes all-in with his around 7K, it is folded to me and I picked up Jacks and made the call. My Jacks hold against his pocket 5s. After that hand I am at around 21-22K and have played good poker so far.“

Of course any tournament winner needs a bit of luck and this one was no exception. “I was lucky to be on the winning side of the majority of my flips. No play was really anything to brag about. All hands were very straight forward.”

There are tournaments running at Juicy Stakes 24/7. A complete schedule is listed under the Tournaments tab in the poker software.
